FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF PALMYRA TO HOST COMMUNITY PRAYER SERVICE

October 21, 2024

join us for a time of prayer and intercession the night before the election

PALMYRA, MO - As part of its commitment to serving HIM and focusing on the community, First Christian Church (FCC) of Palmyra, 202 East Olive Street, will be hosting a community prayer service focusing on praying for the community, area, and country, its leadership, and its future. The event will be held on Monday, November 4 from 6-7pm in the sanctuary of the church.

“I encourage everyone to join us for a time of prayer and intercession the night before the election,” stated Pastor Mark. “We will pray for those in authority, those seeking elected office, and the issues before us on the ballot. ‘For this is good and pleases God our Savior, 1 Timothy 2:2-3.’”

Pastor Mark will begin the service with a short devotion. “We ask that everyone understand that after Mark’s remarks, everyone remains in their seats and pray in silence,” stated Carolyn Carpenter, chair of membership and evangelism. “We will turn the lights down and soft music will be played so that everyone can focus on praying. Once attendees finish with their time of silent prayer they can quietly leave the church.”

2024 marks FCC’s 190th year of serving HIM. On Sundays, guests and members enjoy a coffee bar that is available from 10-10:45am. Sunday school classes are also from 10-10:45am and the traditional worship service begins at 11am. Questions regarding this event can be directed to Carolyn at 573-822-8710.
